LUNA - Cover Base #7, 13ml / 30ml

About LUNA - Cover Base #7, 13ml / 30ml

A camouflage base for covering and leveling nails under gel polish, from the Classic Cover Bases line. The manufacturer’s page describes a highly pigmented, elastic and flexible formula that gives a high level of coverage of the natural nail.

Key Properties

• Medium consistency that does not run and self-levels quickly
• Thins out when the brush moves, and can be warmed to make it thinner
• Acidity 5-6 pH
• Neutral smell
• Possible minimal shrinkage during wear, which the page links to the base’s elasticity
• Wear without lifting for 3-4 weeks, according to the page

From Prep to Finish

1. Remove old product and shape the nail, leaving about 2 mm of length to trim after leveling.
2. Buff the surface with a 220-grit file or a 100-grit buffer, then do the manicure.
3. Degrease the nail in two passes.
4. Use a primer only if needed, depending on the acidity of the underlayer.
5. Apply a thin underlayer of a rubber or fix base, rubbing it in with a flat brush, and cure for 60 seconds. Leave the sticky layer in place.
6. Level with Cover Base #7 to a thickness of 0.5 mm at the free edge, and cure for 90 seconds.
7. Shape the nail, wipe off the sticky layer, apply the top coat and cure for 120 seconds, without wiping afterwards.

The page asks for an original lamp rated 36-48 W. It also says the base is not suitable for leveling long nails without prior reinforcement.
